LOK: The BENDER GAMES AU SNEAK PEEK

Hello everyone! So yeah. Remember what I wrote in my journal a few days ago about this Lok Au I have been working on? Well here's the sneak peak!

Yes. In honor of waiting until April for LOK Season 2. I decided to make an AU Lok (hunger games like) comic. Because who doesn't like Legend of Korra and the Hunger Games.






Now. I don't know if I will write a fanfic of this. Heck, I don't even know what this is yet. Most likely this will be a comic that will take some time. Or I might draw some scenes with some dialogue from the series. Kinda like Lok/HG crossover AU scenes. xD (my most likely choice)

The plot will be similar but won't entirely be the same as the hunger games. Some things will change.

Plot: After Avatar Aang's Death, Amon has risen to power (thanks to his Equalist Followers and Sato's Technology) , and taken over Republic City and within the following year is control of all the nations. Since he doesn't know who exactly is the new avatar after Aang's death, he proposed within that end of the year of a sick and cruel game "THE BENDER GAMES" as a "peace treaty" for all the nations. Each bender child from the ages of 10-18 will compete for the "BENDER GAMES." 1 person from each nation will represent their nation. (It will be 24 tributes since most of them are mostly earthbenders.)

When Senna and Tarrlok find out their 3 year old daughter, that Korra is the avatar, they inform the previous's avatar's wife, Katara about the news. Together, with Katara they proposed a plan to ensure their and Korra's safety. Korra's parents become traveling merchants who sell Southern Watertribe goods throughout the entire nations but in reality this is a front to take Korra train with her bending among some trusted members of a secret rebellion "The White Lotus" against Republic City.

Years past and 17 year old Korra and her parents, have been living in the Fire Nation for four years after she mastered water and earthbending. They live by the Fire Palace where she is currently training with Katara's old friends, former Fire Lord Zuko as well as his grandson Prince Iroh. Meanwhile the 17th Bender Games are being held on the day before her Firebending test.

The only bending left for Korra is airbending which in Korra's mind will be tricky to find out how the white lotus and her family will make a cover story as to find Tenzin, the only airbending master in the entire world.

However Korra finds herself being picked for the 17th annual Bender Games and she will represent the entire Southern Watertribe and try to compete in order to survive with only using her waterbending. Since it is her duty as the avatar to stay alive and not reveal her secret to the world since she still is a young avatar in training.

Korra is determined to win the games since she is the only hope to defeat Amon but finds herself realizing that this personal mission will be far from easy.




Anyway, I basically planned out the parallels and who plays who in this AU Series:

Republic City-The Capitol

Southern Water Tribe: District 12

Amon: As President Snow

Equalists: Peacekeepers

Korra would be the Katniss. (You know. Katniss being the Mockingjay. Korra would be the "Avatar." Only she would be in hiding. Plus she's the main character. However she will not volunteer for the games. She will be picked since I decided to have someone rigg the raffle. That's how she got picked. Because someone knew her secret of being the Avatar.

General Iroh would be Gale. (Mainly because I was hoping that Korra and General Iroh 2.0 would share this amazing friendship in the original Lok series but since that didn't happen. Of course, Iroh knows about Korra's secret since they were pre-teens since his grandfather, Zuko told him that she will be training for her firebending with them. Of course it's a secret they both know. Of course, Iroh has feelings for Korra. Korra is...confused. I decided to make them friends in my comic AU.) I also will make him Prince Iroh since he will be General Iroh during the rebellion for Republic City Later on.

Mako would be the Peeta. (Because he would volunteer for Bolin. Mako (like Peeta) had eyes for Korra for a long time. Since in this version of their childhood, little Korra saves little Bolin from being beaten for stealing food. Korra then gives Bolin some food and money from her parents. Mako watches and from that act, he fell in love with her, and stalked her while her stay in Republic City. Little Mako also knows about Korra's secret of being the avatar as he watched her train using both water and earthbending when she was in the park at night as kids. But he never told knowing she'd be put to death. ) Mako will be the tribute that represents "Republic City" .

Bolin as Primrose (The younger sibling obviously Mako cherishes and protects. His role will be bigger later on in the series clearly. XD )

Asami would be the Cinna character. (Now the reason for this is because I didn't want to make her the typical Annie Cresta character. No. To make the plot interesting, I want Asami to be Korra and Mako's stylist, who works for Republic City (The Capitol) and I think it would be a good twist for this story for Asami who is not only gifted with her sense of fashion but also knows a lot about technology thanks to her father, Hiroshi Sato who is a huge supporter of the "BENDER GAMES." Plus Asami rebelling against Republic City and being a badass is just too awesome to pass.

IN ADDITION: I want Korra and Asami to have this Korrasami BFF friendship (hopefully they will do this in Season 2) and if not, this comic will have it. So in the end, Korra/Asami will have the Katniss/Cinna friendship. I'm not having Asami fall for Mako nor will they enter a relationship. Instead Asami will fall for Iroh. Remember it's not gonna be exactly how it happens in the hunger games. )


Tenzin as the Haymitch: A parallel to Haymitch: Previous Victor of the BENDER GAMES. His role will be painful. Don't worry. Tenzin didn't win by killing. He still has his nomadic and pacifistic ways. We won in a clever way but of course paid for it. He represented "The Air Nomads."


Tarrlok as the Seneca Crane: (in this AU Tarrlok is a waterbender for sure but not wanting to be like his father Yakone, he decides to live as a "nonbender" and go on top (making it seem he supports Amon) but in reality is a double agent if you will. )

DEBATING:

RUE: Skoochy or Jinora. This is still in debate. I kinda want to make Skoochy the Rue character simply because I love the air bending babies too much. But Jinora as Rue could be that stab to the heart feeling this story needs. I'm still in debate.

Shiro Shinobi as Caesar Flickerman: Because you know he makes a great announcer. XD

Howl as Darius: I decided to give this fandom character to be an Equalist double agent who in reality works for the White Lotus.

As for the other characters (like Clove, Cato, etc all the other tributes) I might ask for a DA Oc contest were I might choose to use their bender oc's as tributes. Just for fun you know.



Ideas for the second continuation. "Catching Fire" Comic if the comic works out.

Lin Bei Fong the parallel to Johanna Mason and a dash Enobaria. Because she's a badass.) She will represent "Gaoling" part of the Earthkingdom. (Aka Toph's hometown. I decided that Gaoling will parallel District 7)

Tahno A parallel to Finnick. Because you know Tahno would flirt with Korra, have a tragic past, and he's hot enough to be Finnick. Now I know we don't know what origin Tahno is in. So I will go with the fandom's theory and he will represent "The Foggy Swamp Tribe."


That's all I have now, but I'll think many more later. Tell me what you think? Good idea? Bad idea? ...I'm kicked out of the fandom aren't i? D:
